2. Setting up for Success

Vital to the success of team development work is creating buy-in from team members. They must feel this work is being done ‘with’ them not ‘to’ them.

In Setting Up For Success we engage the team with 1 to 1 interviews, tailored questionnaires and or team 360’s; we need to understand the range of views from across the team and let a multitude of voices be heard.

Where possible we also like to interview key stakeholders and customers to provide as full and as rounded a view as we can. This enables us to understand the environment client’s teams are operating in; where that environment is enabling the team and where it currently is not.

Synthesising all the feedback from the interviews and questionnaires, we provide clients with a debrief on:

  • Your team’s view of itself

  • Their scope to improve

  • What gets in the way of them becoming high performing

Crucially this debrief provides a common shared view for the team of where they are now and where they would like to be. From here ThisTeamWorks then designs the first 3 workshops for the team development programme.

Great teams…
